Getting The Most Out Of Your Regional Director Relationship
The Regional Director Mentoring Session is the engine that will drive the process. This monthly meeting sets the direction and provides course correction when needed. When you and your RD engage in a focused, meaningful one on one, every other part the Money Concepts process performs at a higher level. When your one on one lacks direction your experience suffers a steep decline in value.
Steps For A Successful One on One Meeting
Protect The Time and Place
- Set your meeting on your calendar in indelible ink.
- Give yourself two hours of uninterrupted time. No phone calls, text messages or e-mails during the meeting.
- Show up on time and be prepared. Don’t waste your time or that of your RD.
Venture Into Uncomfortable Space
- Prepare an Annual Business and Activity Plan and review it with your Regional Director
- Understand that it is the RD’s responsibility to push, pull and nudge you. The most uncomfortable sessions often lead to the most personal growth and best business outcomes.
Focus On Strategic Issues
- This is the time to take your sale’s person’s hat off and put your CEO hat on and think strategically about your business. If you do not perform this function nobody else will.
- Use the one on one meeting to work on the vision, strategy and direction of both your business and personal life.
- Start by reviewing your action steps from your last meeting. What happened, why and what is your next step.
- Brainstorm solutions with your RD.
- Explore life issues.
Expect Accountability From Your Reginal Director
- When you commit to a course of action, expect your RD to hold your feet to the fire.
- Without accountability it becomes just another social meeting.
Be Prepared
- Effective one on ones require hard work and preparation. Don’t expect to wing it.
- Come prepared with an agenda and your homework.
- Throughout the month keep a log of issues you want to discuss.
Honor The Boundaries
- All discussions are confidential and will not be repeated outside of the meeting.
- Violate the purpose of the meeting by wasting time.
- Be focused on positive, forward looking action steps. In the final analysis your success is driven by your actions.
By practicing these steps
you will greatly enhance your RD’s ability
to deliver on the Money Concepts vision of helping entrepreneurs succeed. >
