Maria Monteiro-Childe was born in Portugal, and graduated Cum Laude from State University of NY at Albany with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish and French with a minor in Portuguese literature. Planning to teach at the college level, she took graduate courses in education. Maria was a member of the French as well as the Spanish Honor Society and attended the Universidad de Salamanca in Spain. Maria taught for a short time, then worked for the NY State Department of Tax & Finance as a Taxpayer Service Representative III for over thirteen years where she was in charge of the Taxpayers Assistance telephone bank. Maria joined Money Concepts in July of 1996 as comptroller. She steadily took on additional responsibilities and now oversees Commissions, Licensing and Contracting and Human Resources, and was promoted to Vice President in 2007.
