Pam Rankin is a financial advisor and Registered Representative in Louisville, Kentucky who has been working in the financial industry since 1991. Pam emphasizes comprehensive financial planning, and she focuses on asking the right questions and looking at a client’s entire financial picture when helping them determine the best path for reaching their financial goals. She offers services in the areas of individual retirement planning, pension planning, advising clients on the legal ramifications of life events, small business consultations, corporate pension planning, life insurance, disability benefits, Medicare and 401(k)s.
Born and raised in Louisville, Pam earned her Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies at Sullivan University College of Business Administration. She worked as a paralegal for ten years, and for much of that time she assisted in civil litigation and trials in Circuit Court, probate, real estate transactions, bankruptcy and domestic relations. She also worked with the Department of Insurance investigating workers compensation claims. She earned her insurance licenses, and in 1994, she earned her Series 6 and 63 licenses and began providing investment services to clients.
Pam’s background in the legal field provides her with an understanding of not just the financial but the legal implications of client life events such as the death of a loved one, real estate transactions, divorce, bankruptcy, etc. Pam believes that financial planning is an ongoing, progressive process and that periodic reviews are necessary to help clients stay on track. As such, she meets regularly with each client to touch base on their financial situation and help them stay focused while achieving their financial goals.

Pam became an associate with Benefit Planning, Inc. (BPI) in 2008, thus expanding her services to federal employees as well as non-federal clients. BPI is an organization that specializes in federal benefit planning for Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) and Federal Employee Retirement System (FERS) employees. Since joining BPI, Pam has committed herself to educating and training federal employees to assist them in understanding their federal benefits and retirement systems. She has a full understanding of the various areas that affect the decisions and plans for federal employees in their working and retirement futures. These areas include Thrift Saving Plan (TSP), Social Security Benefits, Federal Employee Group Life Insurance (FEGLI), CSRS/FERS Annuity calculations, CSRS/FERS Survivor Benefits, sick leave calculations, military buy backs, CSRS Voluntary Contributions and deposits and re-deposits.
Pam provides educational seminars and training sessions to various government agencies in multiple states across the country. These agencies include the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Transportation, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), United States Census Bureau and many other federal agencies.
ACTIVITIES AND INTERESTS
In her spare time, Pam enjoys traveling, physical fitness training and spending time with her family. She has served on the board of the Girls Scouts and has mentored girls from Maryhurst. She is a member of and has served on the board of National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and Federally Employed Women (FEW). She is past president of the Louisville chapter of NAWBO.
