Jeff Phalen is a financial advisor at Citizens Union Bank in Shelbyville, Kentucky who has been serving clients in the banking industry for more than a decade. Jeff works primarily with clients who are retired or about to retire and are in the distribution phase of their investments. He offers mutual fund, annuity, education savings (529) plan, employee benefits and client educational seminar services. Jeff always strives to treat his clients the way that he would like to be treated in their shoes. His goal is to look objectively at each individual’s unique situation and give them advice that will help them to reach their financial goals.
An Illinois native, Jeff attended the University of Nebraska where he majored in Business, and he now calls Shelbyville home. Jeff began his career in sales management before transitioning into the banking sector. Jeff developed an interest in investments and earned his securities license when he realized the role of financial advisor would afford him the opportunity to make a positive impact in his clients’ lives.
Jeff enjoys showing clients the full range of options that they have regarding management of their assets, especially if they are learning about those opportunities for the first time. This may include educating a client, who has exclusively used bank CDs, on the benefits of annuities or a conservative fund portfolio. By educating clients in a way they understand, Jeff works to empower them so they know what steps are needed in order to attain their objectives.
